In the weekend the Danish Team participated in the first European Cup of the season.

Denmark took 5 fighters, and finished with 2 medals and one 5th place.

Saturday Anja Lunding -52kg was 5th going 2-2 Anja

started the day with two victories, in the second fight she beat nr 2 seed from Belgium giving her a place in the semifinal. Here she would lose in a tight match with 2 shidos agains 1. In the bronze match Anja couldn´t overcome her opponent from Germany. A good come back to the medal fights from her side.


In the category of -73kg, Anders Hvidkær got Silver, going 5-1 losing only to the winner of the tournament in the final. Anders faught very good the whole day, scoring some nice Ippons on the way, specially in the semi final where in a moment of inspiration he countered his opponent for Ippon.

Also in -73kg participated Alexander Bakke that could not over come his opponent in the first round.

Sunday we had Emilie Sook in -70kg that took bronze going 4-1, Emilie lost only the 1/4 final to later silver medalist and last year bronze at the junior world championships. Emilie demonstrated good judo, throwing with several different techniques the whole day.

Also sunday Sebastian Laursen -81kg went 1-2 and placing 9th.
